Annabel founded the Resol String Quartet with fellow students whilst studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2018.

The name Resol comes from a Catalan word meaning “reflection of Sunlight” and their playing is certainly full of sunshine.

In a constant pursuit for excellence, the artists share their joy of music making and act as ambassadors for chamber music, keeping it alive in today’s society. The group feel just as at home in education settings as they do in village halls and on the concert platform and strive to blend all this work together.

Their latest season saw them visit many local schools in the communities in which they performed, offering heavily or fully subsidised visits thanks to a grant awarded by Creative Scotland. In particular they have worked on several occasions with Oban High School and Worth School in West Sussex.

In 2021 they won the First prize and Audience prize in the Cavatina Competition at Wigmore Hall. The quartet have performed at Perth Concert Hall, Snape Maltings and Conway Hall amongst other venues. They have appeared live on BBC Radio Scotland “Classics Unwrapped” and on BBC Scotland’s "Scotland’s People 2022".

Annabel also teaches and gained a distinction in her AMRSM Diploma in Teaching in 2019. In 2020 she worked side by side with Nicola Benedetti as a “Benedetti Ambassador”.

Their latest tour will provide workshops to primary schools and takes in performances at Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Perth, Darlington, The Wirrel and at Conway Hall, London. Visit their events page for more information: Events - Resol String Quartet.
