Present. Perform. Persuade offer public speaking and presenting training courses, run by Old Brightonian and journalist Vanessa (Wi. 1996-98).

The organisation runs a range of speaking courses designed to increase confidence and skill in presenting. If you are struggling with nerves and want to learn how to present, handle questions, sell their ideas, negotiate, perform at interview, they have a plethora of programmes lasting between 8-12 weeks.

Vanessa has developed concrete techniques to make presentations work every time, from deciding what it is you want to say, to putting it across in a memorable way. Her methods have been used by people working across industry, the arts, charity, politics and sport.

Vanessa worked as a presenter and reporter for 15 years, performing on live TV for BBC News, ITV, NBC and other international broadcasters.

She says, “I've lost count of the number of times I've had to speak in public and yet I remember well those feelings of fear I felt in the early days. I love helping people become the best speakers they can be - getting across whatever it is they want to say. Witnessing that eureka moment when the person on stage starts to enjoy their performance and the audience is enthralled.”
