Dr Ayan Panja (H. 1986-91 - twitter.com/Dr_Ayan) is to star in a new show on Channel 4 called Health Freaks. Examining home remedies as part of a panel of GPs, Ayan and two colleagues will decide whether a remedy is worth trialling on the public or is simply barmy.

Ayan continues to work as a clinical editor for NHS Choices and works at the BBC as the resident doctor for BBC World News. He appears regularly on their flagship news programme Impact. He also presents Healthcheck on the same channel, a monthly round up of global health, which attracts around 80 million viewers worldwide.

Ayan's core work is still as a 7/8 time GP partner in a busy town centre practice in St Albans, where he lives with his young family.

Health Freaks, made by Outline Productions, airs for 6 weeks on Channel 4 at 8.30 pm every Monday night.
