Rupert spent four months working in various parts of Kenya from October 2009 until February this year, as a volunteer for 'African & Asia Venture'. Whilst building school classrooms in Kasigau he met the founder and ex 'AV', twenty-four year old Charles Coldman and saw, first hand, just how much Charles has improved the learning conditions of many young village children.
On Saturday night (May 15th 2010) I will be taking part in the Moon Walk in memory of my wonderful sister Penny Lloyd, nee Allen (F. 1979-81) who died of breast cancer aged 45 just over a year ago.
I've been selected for the Honeywell Advanced Educators Space Academy in mid June 2010 at Huntsville Space and Rocket Centre with and the Kennedy Space Centre for 7 days.
The Association is extremely proud to report that on 19th March 2010 Flight Lieutenant Marc Heal (OB. 1994-98), currently stationed at RAF Odiham in Hampshire, was awarded the prestigious Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) for his actions whilst on operations in Afghanistan in July 2009.
Marc is looking forward to spending more time back in Brighton since becoming a board member of Brighton and Hove Albion. He's involved in the stadium development at Falmer which promises to be incredibly exciting - long over due for Brighton. Marc is keen to keep the OBA aware of developments at the club, and invites those interested either in premium seats or in general season to get in touch with him at This email address is being protected from spambots.
