They say that in Snowdonia it is possible to see four seasons in one day. Unfortunately for the 25 Gold participants that ventured to North Wales this Easter break they really only encountered the one. Winter. For four days and three nights our two assessed and two practice groups displayed true British stoicism as they battled against torrential rain, flooded rivers and some rather unfortunately flooded tents.
The conditions were such that our groups weren't even able to see the summit of Snowdon let alone contemplate climbing to its peak therefore outstanding navigational skill and accuracy was the order of the four days if there was any chance of remaining on course.
Many congratulations to our 14 assessed participants for completing the challenge. They include Harriet Bull, Ian Headley, Corinne Hull, Philip Pappasavvas, Olivia Patteson- Knight, Kris Shukla and Lloyd Silson (Red Group) and Issah Abdul-Moomin, Alice Boyle, Yasmine Coleman, Jorden Edgar-Oliyide, Katie Lewis, Sam Meikle-Small and James Stone (Green Group). A special mention also to Yana Atkinson in the Pink Practice Group who totally exceeded our expectations. Indeed well done to everyone for enduring some really tough conditions. There was no fuss, no complaining, they kept their heads down, their spirits up and we were incredibly proud of each and every one.
