Do you remember being on the stage of the Great Hall, perhaps reciting some Shakespeare or maybe even Euripides? Or were you behind the scenes helping with costumes, props or even stage design? Drama, music, art and dance are flourishing at the College, but we very well know that the Great Hall stage has seen many an impressive show since it was built in 1913.

The Old Brightonians Association was founded in 1882 and continues to go from strength to strength, providing over 5,000 Old Brightonians with an international network of individuals who have the shared experience of an education at Brighton College. We are delighted to announce that both Brighton College and Brighton College Prep and Pre-Prep appear on two spaces on the new board in the Brighton and Hove edition of Monopoly, which was released last month. Traditionally taken up by Regent Street and Bond Street we sit on two green spaces!
At this year’s remembrance service, the Head Master will read the names of Old Brightonians who lost their lives during the Second World War. Some of these men, like John Sulman, lived to marry and have children, while others were children themselves, like Frank Stuttaford. Although their lives were very different, each would have walked through the archway in the College’s gatehouse. They would have posed for their house photograph in September, and sat in the chapel each morning, alongside their friends.
This week, we are celebrating Respect Week at the College, which gives the pupils and staff the chance to discuss issues of inequality and prejudice within a variety of different forums.
