Nicholas Allan releases The King's Pants
Following the success of his previous books - including award-winning The Queen’s Knickers - Nicholas Allan is delighting young audiences with his new release, The King’s Pants(published April 2023 by Andersen Press).
If ever a venue was most likely to draw a big attendance for one of the regular OB London Drinks evenings it was surely the Paramount Sky Bar on the 32nd floor of London’s Centre Point Tower. The attendee list was appropriately over-subscribed – a terrific indicator for the New Year.
Nicholas Allan (H. 1970-75) has taken his infamous book and now a musical, Father Christmas Needs a Wee!, to the Edinburgh Festival this summer. At every house Father Christmas eats and drinks the tasty treats that have been left for him, but when he reaches number ten he realises that he's forgotten to do something really rather important, and he really, really, really needs a wee! A brilliantly bouncy new musical adaptation of Nicholas Allan's much loved book.
This children's classic, by Old Brightonian Nicholas Allan (H. 1970-75) has been adapted for the theatre as a comedy for wise young children about hysterical adults, told by two elastic actors.
Nicholas Allan is the author/illustrator of over thirty children’s books.
What a terrific night - this is how the London Drinks should work! I’d be lying if I said we wouldn’t rather have a few more of you along to these things, but the turnout tonight was a decent enough size, I suppose (15 or so), and the quality of the company more than made up for it’s quantity.
