Last week the senior golf team took on the Old Brightonians at East Brighton Golf Club. Exams knocked out a few of the pupils so a depleted BC team of 4 pupils took on 5 OBs - with Mr Sperring making up the numbers.

First boys' pairing of Toby Graves and Tom Rollinson took on Warwick Laing (Aldrich 1984-87) and Julian Tate (Durnford 1982-87). The youngsters got off to a flyer, playing great golf, and were 4 up around the turn. Julian Tate then got his game head on, and after a blistering back nine with 4 birdies the OBs managed to turn things around to win 2 and 1. Next up was Oli Graves and Anthony Li, playing against Patrick Spencer (Ryle 1994-99) and Petri Hitches (Aldrich 1984-86). Once again youth got the better of experience in the early part of the match, but this time the OBs failed to rally, and Oli and Anthony sealed the match 4 and 3. With the match tied the outcome of Mr Sperring and Alan Malby (Leconfield 1972-77)would decide things - a good contest, with the OB ahead throughout the match until the 17th, with things all square going down the 18th a birdie from Mr Sperring was enough to seal the result, 2-1, for BC.
